Bronte first played chess when he was 9 years old through a friend, via Chesslife. He learned that chess was a game of skill and logical thinking, but he also learned that chess could bring people together. He wanted to get better so he could beat his dad at chess. He then played in competitions, he did not always win but he had fun and made friends. He says that one way chess is different to most other sport games is that you can usually talk to your opponent. He believes that chess is the equivalent of doing push-ups for the brain; it exercises the brain in a way that we enjoy through strategy and logic. He says that chess is for everyone but it is especially for people who like strategy, intricate puzzles and playing games with their head not their feet.
Bronte can now destroy his dad at chess.
