Louise first saw the energetic David present at a school assembly and her mind about Chess changed. It was not for the quiet or introverted, or even really, really smart student. Chess was indeed for everyone! So she got her young daughter straight into chess classes. It was fabulous to see the development of her daughter not only in chess playing skills, but also in the important life skills like persistence, focus and concentration and ability to progress. Her background is in Secondary School Teaching, but she also teaches Speech and Drama in her spare time. Louise loves working for Chesslife because she believes in what Chesslife is working to achieve for all students – in learning about Chess and also in increasing a student’s confidence, resilience, organisation and ability to get along with others.
